Delisting and short positions
When a company leaves the market its short data stops; positions are unwound in a takeover, or left to the bankruptcy process, and the history is kept here on an archive page.
A takeover closes short positions because the shares are cancelled or exchanged; a bankruptcy leaves short sellers holding positions in shares that may become worthless, with the register showing the last disclosed figure until the shares are cancelled. On this site a delisted company keeps its full history on an archive page marked with its delisting year, and a ticker later reused by a new company never mixes the two histories.
