What this site is

HowShorted republishes and explains public regulatory data from FINRA and SEC EDGAR (United States), the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (whose short position data is reproduced under CC BY 4.0), and the national short position registers of France (AMF), the Netherlands (AFM), Norway (Finanstilsynet) and Sweden (Finansinspektionen). It is an informational reference, provided free of charge.

No investment advice

Nothing on this site is investment advice, a recommendation, or an invitation to trade any instrument. Short-position data describes past regulatory notifications; it does not predict prices. Decisions you make are your own responsibility; consider professional advice.

Accuracy

We work hard on fidelity to the source (see our methodology), but the data passes through the regulators' processes and ours, either of which can contain errors, and published figures are revised by the regulators in the normal course. The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.

Use of our data and pages

The underlying disclosures are public regulatory data. Our compilations, pages and charts may be quoted and linked freely with attribution to howshorted.com. Automated wholesale scraping that burdens the service is not permitted.

US short interest figures are FINRA data (FINRA® is a registered trademark of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc.), shown here for your personal or professional reference only. You may not further redistribute the FINRA data itself, in bulk or otherwise, and it is not offered for download from this site. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by FINRA or the SEC.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for losses arising from use of this site or reliance on its contents.
