Percentage points (pp)

How changes are measured on this site: a move from 2.0% to 3.0% of share capital is a rise of 1.0 percentage point, not a 50% rise.

Because the figures are already percentages, changes are stated in percentage points to avoid ambiguity. Movers lists rank by percentage-point change over one, five and twenty reporting periods, so a large company moving from 10% to 12% (+2.0 pp) ranks above a small one moving from 0.5% to 1.5% (+1.0 pp) even though the second tripled.
