Aggregate net short position (ANSP)
The UK measure, published daily by the FCA from 13 July 2026: the sum of every individual net short position of at least 0.2% of a company's issued share capital.
Since the UK's 2026 reform, individual short sellers are no longer named publicly. Instead the FCA publishes, for each company on its Reportable Shares List, the aggregate of all net short positions it has been notified of at or above 0.2% of issued share capital, as of a position date two working days earlier.
The aggregate is a floor: positions below 0.2% are not notified and therefore not included. A company showing 5% has at least 5% of its capital in disclosed net short positions, held by an unknown number of holders.
